4 steps to use an external mouse with ur laptop

How to Use an External Mouse with a Laptop

Introduction:

Though a laptop computer gives you the option of using a built-in mouse, you should carry an external mouse as well, especially if you use the laptop for long hours. Having an external mouse makes navigation more convenient. Here’s how to use an external mouse with a laptop:

Steps:

Step One
Determine the type of port your laptop has. Most old laptops have a round port, called a PS/2. If your laptop doesn’t have a PS/2 port, it will have a USB port; this is the type found in most new models.

Step Two
Buy a mouse that is compatible with your laptop's port.

Step Three
Connect your PS/2 mouse to the PS/2 port. Alternatively, connect your USB mouse to the USB port. Configure the device using the setup wizard.

Step Four
Another option would be a wireless mouse. Be sure your laptop and the wireless mouse are compatible. For instance, if your laptop is Bluetooth enabled, you can easily connect a Bluetooth wireless mouse. Insert batteries into the mouse, connect the wireless receiver to your computer and install the software.
